Each member of the family will be surprised as they are picked up from home, school, work or other locations to reunite with the rest of the family at the airport. Only after all family members have arrived does the host tell them where they will be spending their vacation. At this point, the host will give the family video and camera equipment provided by the show’s main sponsor to record their vacation memories. The family also learns about a team of experts who will help them create the history of their vacation as well as their lives. What the family won’t know until the end of the show is that this team has been in their home designing a memory room complete with all the equipment necessary for the family to continue to record and preserve the history of their lives together long after their unexpected vacation ends.

Every day the family will take photos/videos of their amazing vacation that they will send back home to the memory experts and the family insider. These experts in turn will utilize all of the new products to produce a series of fun, creative and personalized memories in the forms of craft scrapbooks, digital photo books, digital frames, picture frames and an online photo history of the family.

On the last day, the family emails their final photos before boarding their flight back home. Upon their return, the design team and family insider present the family with the finished results of their family history up to and including the vacation. The family is amazed as the story of their lives unfolds before them. They thank the show and its sponsors for the vacation and the services and products they have received.
